The Forest Preserve District of Cook County (FPDCC) requires an application for education activities, such as field trips, from all groups wishing to use their grounds (listed on the map as sites #4-16 and #20-23).

If you group plans on visiting one of these sites, please download the Application for Educational Activity Permit (16k PDF) and send it along with any additional description of methods or additional participants to:

Please submit the application at least two weeks prior to your scheduled activity

The application is for educational field trips and activities by schools or similar organizations. Application for research study permits or any activity involving more extensive collecting should be directed to the FPDCC Resource Ecology Section. Questions may be directed to the Education Manager, (708) 771-1332.

It is assumed that all activities will take place during normal daytime hours of operation, between sunrise and sunset. Requests for after-hour activities will be considered if need and safety preparation can be shown. No collecting except specifically stated is permitted. Please report any observed Illegal activities on forest preserve property to the FPDCC police at (708) 771-1000.
