Overview
Who
Friends of the Chicago River will host the seventh annual Chicago River Summit. Attendees will include elected officials, municipal staff, developers, engineers, architects, environmental consultants, environmental groups, and other Chicago River stakeholders.
Learn about the innovative and collaborative ways the Greater Milwaukee region manages water from keynote speaker Kevin Shafer, executive director of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
Understand how we can mitigate the effects of climate change throughout the Illinois River watershed from the Office of the Lt. Governor and the Illinois River Coordinating Council.
Participate in discussions and ask questions about how groups and businesses like the Metropolitan Planning Council and WRD Environmental work to makes a positive impact on changes related to climate change.
What
The Chicago River Summit, founded in 2004 in partnership with Governor Pat Quinn, is an annual event that focuses on identifying sustainable solutions for the issues that impact the Chicago River.
