Membership gifts enable Friends of the Chicago River to continue our award-winning efforts. From education programs like our Chicago River Schools Network to on-the-ground projects like habitat restoration to public policy and planning initiatives like Friends’ “Action Plan for the Chicago River” report, your financial support makes our work possible.
All Friends members and donors receive:
- A subscription to our River Reporter newsletter, filled with important information on issues that effect the Chicago River plus a calendar of river-related events;
- Volunteer bulletins, email actions alerts, and other opportunities for hands-on involvement;
- Invitations to Friends’ special events like Chicago River Day, the Big Fish Ball, and Chicago River Flatwater Classic;
- Discounts on our canoe trips;
- Listing in Friends’ Annual Report;
And perhaps most significantly,
- The reward of knowing that your membership contribution has a direct impact on improving the health and vitality of the Chicago River
Donors of $250 and above are also eligible for additional recognition opportunities and more! Please contact Mary Beth Sova at (312) 939-0490, ext. 19, or msova@chicagoriver.org for more information.
Friends’ Endowment Fund
Friends’ endowment fund supports our long-term vision to make the river as divine as today’s lakefront. (“The Divine” was frontier settlers’ nickname for what is now the Chicago River.) Through our public policy efforts, it enables Friends to provide a voice for the river TODAY and tomorrow.
Friends of the Chicago River is a nonprofit, 501c(3) organization. Contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
