Planet Forward Podcast: Friends Executive Director Margaret Frisbie Talks With Colin Boyle

Friends of the Chicago River Executive Director Margaret Frisbie recently say down with Planet Forward reporter Colin Boyle to talk all things Chicago River.

Planet Forward engages young people and innovators in search of solutions to the biggest challenges facing our planet. Through media, teaching and convening the group aims to "empower new voices and elevate compelling ideas." Planet Forward is a project of the School of Media & Public Affairs of the George Washington University in Washington DC.

Boyle writes: "As the executive director of Friends of the Chicago River since 2005, Frisbie has been working tirelessly to make the Chicago River a high-quality body of water while drumming up awareness to the river so that people are aware of its benefits. The Chicago River has been used and abused for decades, serving as a dumping ground for waste from the rapidly growing industries in Chicago dating back to the 1800s. The City of Chicago and groups like Friends of the Chicago River have been working extensively to clean the river and its surrounding areas."
