Forest Glen Woods - Centennial Volunteer Stewardship Workdays

An important corridor for migratory birds, Forest Glen is part of the Lower North Branch Preserves. This unique woodland, savanna, and floodplain ecosystem needs help from our volunteer community to remove invasive plants, collect and distribute native seeds, and reduce erosion issues.

Beaubien Woods - Centennial Volunteers

Join us to help restore this unique prairie and woodland ecosystem back to health! Trained leaders show you how to identify plants that don't belong and demonstrate how to safely use hand tools to remove them. Depending on the season, workdays may also include native seed collection for dispersal in areas cleared of invasive species, hand pulling invasive grasses and flowers, as well as nature walks to enjoy the preserve.

"Paint the River" Plein Air Painting Festival

Painters, collectors, and those who love the Chicago River... please join the festivities on the riverwalk for a one-day paint out and exhibit by the Plein Air Painters Chicago. A portion of proceeds benefit Friends of the Chicago River and the Bridgehouse Museum.
