Chicago River Photobomb

Ready, set, smile! Join us in celebrating the Chicago River by participating in our annual "photobomb" at the River Theater on the Riverwalk. The picture is set for 12:15 p.m. but come early and learn more about the great success stories and challenges of Chicago's great river.

Also to mark Earth day, we're launching a new website. In addition to our current chicagoriver.org, look for the launch of ChicagoWaterFun.com, which will bring you all kinds of info on how how to enjoy area waterways plus alerts on beach closures and Overflow Action Days.

Friends of the Chicago River is the only organization solely dedicated to the Chicago River system.

Since 1979, Friends has been working to improve the health of the Chicago River system for the benefit of people and wildlife and by doing so, has laid the foundation for the river to be a beautiful, continuous, easily accessible corridor of open space in the Chicago region.
