2018 Big Fish Ball-Please Join Us!

Walk on the wildside of the Chicago River at the 13th annual Big Fish Ball gala on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Nearly 500 of Chicago’s top influencers, decision-makers and the Friends' most generous donors come together for a special evening of cocktails, visits with river wildlife, and an exceptional dinner, great entertainment, raffles, live and silent auctions. 

Be a part of river and forest revitalization by joining an inspiring movement of volunteers gathering to restore this special site along the Chicago River. Our goal is to grow a community of people who will become caretakers and stewards through on-going education and training.

Whistler Woods contains oaks up to 300 years old, but invasive brush prevents their acorns from sprouting. Come join a volunteer crew that will cut back the invasives and improve the habitat at this preserve.
