Chicago River Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to a Chicago River scavenger hunt created by the Friends of the Chicago River Tributary Committee!

Follow the Tributary Committee on Facebook.

The scavenger hunt uses a bingo card to provide activities for you to do in order to be eligible to win prizes.

The Chicago River Bingo card is here and has 24 fun activities for you to complete. Your goal is complete the squares like we've listed below between October 25 starting at 9 a.m. and November 1 by 11:30 p.m. You can also find the bingo card on our social media platforms like Facebook if you want to grab a screenshot from there.

Need a few details to get you started, check out the Tip Sheet.

To be eligible to win prizes:

  • Complete 5 squares in a row (vertical, diagonal or horizontal), or the four corners. Pro-tip: the four corners will be fun with kids!

  • Then go to here to make a $10 donation (or more!) to Friends of the Chicago River. Be sure to select which category of prizes you want adult or child.

  • When you get the email confirming your donation forward it to ChicagoRiverBingo@gmail.com. In the email either include your completed Bingo Card and any photos or, if you posted your activities and completed bingo card on Instagram let us know your handle. (If you use Instagram please make sure your profile is public so we can check out your #ChicagoRiverBingo posts.)

Kid-friendly prizes include:

  • Ultimate Ninjas kids package - $25 gift card, drawstring backpack, water bottle

  • $50 gift certificates from Windy City Fieldhouse for a birthday party

  • 4.5 pound gummy bear

  • $50 gift certificates from Windy City Fieldhouse towards Sports Academy

Regular prizes include:

  • CH Distillery Vodka (must be 21 yo to win)

  • Group pass to a 2nd Story virtual show (on Zoom)

  • One free socially-distanced personal training session from Uplift Strength and Wellness

  • $50 gift certificate to Little Goat

Prize winners will be contacted via email and then given two options for receiving the prize. We can arrange curbside pick up of prizes at the Friends of the Chicago River offices (411 S. Wells in Chicago) or we can mail your prize to you for the cost of USPS shipping.

Check out our social media starting on October 25th for more details on each Chicago River Bingo activity and for hints and examples. If you have questions email ChicagoRiverBingo@gmail.com.
