Double Your Impact for the Chicago-Calumet River System!

This Earth Day, your support goes twice as far. From now through April 30, every dollar you donate to Friends of the Chicago River will be matched—up to $20,000—thanks to the generous support of Otter Society members Michael and Kim Moran, and Larry and Denise Kaplan.

Our Rivers Need Your Protection

While we continue to make incredible progress protecting the 156-mile Chicago-Calumet River system, the climate crisis presents an urgent threat. Increasing severe weather and heavy rains are:

  • Eroding riverbanks and destroying vital habitats.
  • Creating flood conditions that impact local communities.
  • Increasing pollution runoff into the river system.

We need your help to ensure the river remains a thriving natural wonder for all people, water, and wildlife.

Help Us Launch the Osprey Nest Cam

We have an exciting goal for this Earth Month. With a gift of $25,000 or more, Friends will install a high-quality Nest Cam at the Chicago Botanic Garden osprey nest.

In partnership with the Forest Preserves of Cook County, this camera will allow us to monitor nesting patterns and provide a fascinating educational tool for the public. Be an Osprey Hero: your donation today brings us one-step closer to making this important environmental project a reality.

How Your Donation Grows

Because of our Earth Month match, your contribution has double the power!

Every gift helps us protect, restore, and celebrate our rivers. Thank you for being a champion of the Chicago-Calumet River system!
