LaBagh Woods - Centennial Stewardship Volunteer Days

This event has been cancelled.

Help restore the Chicago River system by joining the Centennial Volunteers. Volunteers will learn about our forest preserves, enjoy natural areas close to home and make a tangible difference to our environment. Volunteers will be trained by experts in restoration and resource management and be involved in regular volunteer days on the weekends throughout the year.

This uncommon woodland community encompasses wet savanna, marsh, and mature floodplain woods, and is dominated by swamp white oaks. Join an inspiring movement of volunteers gathering to restore this special site along the Chicago River. LaBagh Woods is at 4600-4628 W. Foster Ave. in Chicago.

Dress for the weather. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes or boots. It's recommended to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat during Spring and Summer. If you plan to bring a group of 5 or more, please let the steward know ahead of time.
