Friends of the Chicago River is proud to open our annual Student Poster Contest to all Chicagoland students. Students are encouraged to design creative and individual posters that inspire action to improve our rivers and communities by creating a Litter Free Chicago-Calumet River system. The theme of this year's poster contest is "Taking Action for a Litter Free River," and celebrates the upcoming 34th annual Chicago River Day on Saturday, May 9.
With the support of WM, this contest is free and open to all Chicagoland youth ages 8 to 18. This year's winning and honorable mention posters from three age categories will be displayed at Friends' McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum during the 2026 season.
