Join a volunteer activity, take a guided walk or learn about careers in tree care and conservation!
Schedule of Activities:
- 10 a.m.: Volunteer with Tree TLC – help mulch trees in the picnic grove
- 10:15 a.m.: Tree Walk – learn about different kinds of trees and how to tell them apart
- 11 a.m.: Pruning Demonstration – watch and listen as we share tips for proper pruning
- 12 p.m.: Volunteer with Ecological Stewardship – help protect young oaks with fencing
Ongoing 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
- Meet a Champion Tree – one of the largest of its kind in the Forest Preserves!
- Info Fair – chat with local partners about jobs in tree care & conservation, volunteering, and exploring nature.
- Free Tree Saplings – take home a free tree from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District! (while supplies last)
