Bubbly Creek Paddle - Then and Now

Tags:

Our urban landscape has seen its share of history. One tiny southside creek was taken over by the Chicago Stockyards, becoming the dumping ground for all their waste. As organic material decomposes it creates gases which bubble to the surface, hence Bubbly Creek. As our city is beginning to embrace its river again, we can see an enormous difference on this little waterway. It’s now teeming with life – heron, turtles and fish. Join us for an urban adventure down memory lane and see the progress made on Chicago’s most infamous creek.

Our fun, knowledgeable guides will provide safety and paddling instruction plus all of the necessary equipment. This trip will start and end from the same location.

Tickets are $40 per person, $30 for Friends members.
