Raise a Glass and Lift a Shovel; Celebrate Earth Month at the Big Fish Ball
Each spring, as Earth Month invites reflection and action, members and supporters of Friends of the Chicago River come together for one of Friends’ most anticipated celebrations, the Big Fish Ball. Join us on April 16, as supporters, partners, and civic leaders gather for the 20th Annual Big Fish Ball, an evening dedicated not only to advancing a cleaner, healthier, and more vibrant Chicago-Calumet River system, but also to protecting the wildlife that depends on it.
The Big Fish Ball is an elegant evening aboard the Odyssey Chicago River, offering guests a unique vantage point to experience the river’s transformation firsthand while enjoying a bounty of lovely food and festive beverages. As the vessel glides through the heart of downtown Chicago, attendees will enjoy sweeping views of the skyline illuminated at night, an inspiring backdrop for celebrating decades of progress and the work that remains ahead.
More than a memorable evening, the Big Fish Ball is a powerful expression of shared commitment. Sponsors play a vital role in making this work possible, and in return, gain access to deeper engagement opportunities with Friends. From the signature cruise experience to exclusive Earth Month activities for teams, sponsorship offers a meaningful way to align organizational values with environmental impact.
Earth Month sponsor activities include:
- A special virtual Lunch and Learn session about Friends’ Chicago Innovation award-winning Natural Solutions Tool on April 1
- An exclusive litter cleanup event on April 22
- A special guided nature walk with Friends on April 27
For those looking to enhance their experience, upgrading to a River Champion ticket unlocks additional ways to get involved throughout April, extending the spirit of the evening into hands-on action.
