Otter Society Members Have a New Way to Show Their River Pride

Otter Society members of Friends of the Chicago River have a new way to show their support for the river system: an exclusive Otter Society hat. Debuted this summer, these new baseball caps feature the logo of Friends of the Chicago River’s major donor circle and are available to Otter Society members.

Otter Society members are individuals and businesses that make an annual commitment of $1,500 or more to Friends of the Chicago River. Their generosity helps fuel the ongoing renaissance of the Chicago-Calumet River system and supports our work to create a healthy, biodiverse, climate-resilient river system where people, water, and wildlife can thrive. Last year’s Otter Society Honor Roll included a top contributor who gave more than $150,000.

The hats were made possible thanks to Otter Society Committee Chair and Friends Board Member Craig Coit and Otter Society Member and supported by Friends Board Member Grant Crowley. Craig and Grant recently sported their hats at our tree dedication, where they joined four other Friends members being honored for their commitment to the river.

Whether you’re spending a day on the river, cheering from the sidelines at a sporting event, hiking the forest preserve trails, or simply enjoying a sunny day, these special hats are a great way to represent your commitment to the river.

If you’re an Otter Society member and haven’t yet received your hat and would like to, reach out to Annie Hanrahan at ahanrahan@chicagoriver.org.
