Help Us Reach Our $15,000 Match

We are so grateful and excited to announce that Otter Society Members Tom and Barbara Honn have pledged $5,000 more to our match campaign for World Rivers Day and the Celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Chicago-Calumet Schools Network. Along with Otter Society Members Craig and Kate Coit, who pledged $10,000, we now have a $15,000 match to meet!

World Rivers Day celebrates rivers around the world and raises awareness of their importance to environmental and community health. As we confront the effects of climate change and work toward a healthier, more resilient river system for all people, water, and wildlife, your support is essential.

For three decades, the CRSN has connected students and teachers with the Chicago-Calumet River system as a living classroom. When Friends launched the CRSN in 1996, it was the first-of-its-kind in the region, training teachers, and engaging students with the river system. Since then, more than 600,000 students and teachers have experienced the river through hands-on, place-based learning that builds environmental knowledge, inspires leadership, and fosters a lifelong commitment to stewardship.

Donate today in celebration of river-based education, advance climate resilience, support equitable access, and drive the policy, planning, and on-the-ground work that is transforming the river system.

Here’s something special added for CRSN teachers and students: throughout this school year, Friends invites all CRSN participants, past and present, to contribute their unique story to the larger 30-year history of the CRSN.
