Cleanup Challange Accepted!

Friends of the Chicago River is joining our partners at Cleanup Club Chicago for the 2027 October Clean-Off, taking on Philadelphia once again - we beat them by just four bags of trash last year, so it’s time to defend our title! This year, Los Angeles is also joining the challenge.

Click here to log the amount of litter you clean up. Please note that photos of your bags of litter must be submitted to qualify.

Creating a Litter Free Chicago-Calumet River takes all of us, and Friends is proud to work with community and government leaders to reduce litter through strong public policy, research, comprehensive reduction programs, and local cleanup efforts. Share the challenge with your community and plan your own cleanup using one of our Litter Free Supply Stations. Every bag and every volunteer helps!
