The first survey of mussels conducted since Friends of the Chicago River and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) reconnected southwest suburban Mill Creek to the Cal-Sag Channel last year has produced positive results: two species of mussels were found.

Fish Success Story is No Tall Tale

The release of a fish survey of the Chicago River system by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) and the Shedd Aquarium this week finds that fish are finding the river more hospitable than they have in decades.
